Technology is changing the face of health care delivery in Michigan. Telemedicine—the ability to perform some patient treatments via video networks—has the power to improve patient care, increase medical access for remote patients, and empower high-speed information sharing between medical, academic and research facilities.

Michigan’s challenge will be to initiate strong collaborations between policy makers, healthcare professionals, medical institutions, and consumers that ensure the continued support and advancement of telemedicine throughout the state.
