While his classmates are holed up in their bedrooms doing homework, talking on the telephone and playing video games, Brighton High School junior Ron Howard is on the air. The 17-year-old DJ began webcasting out of his bedroom last month with a station called SayHy Radio.

In this Detroit, there is no crime and no boarded-up windows.  Out-of-towners don't have to feel jittery cruising unfamiliar streets after dark. This Detroit is even easy to navigate. And you don't have to be in Detroit to do it. Technology Productions Inc., a Detroit-based multimedia agency, has launched an interactive Web site that lets users tour a virtual downtown.
