January 19, 2004, Americans across the country will celebrate the
national holiday honoring the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King,
Jr. As they have since 1994, thousands of Americans remembered Dr.
King by serving in their communities—by making the holiday "a
day ON, not a day off." Please join all AmeriCorp members across

Make A Difference Day is the most encompassing national day of helping
others -- a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Everyone can
participate. Created by USA WEEKEND Magazine, Make A Difference Day is
an annual event that takes place on the fourth Saturday of every
October.
