CyberMichigan Announces Creation of Michigan Information Technology Advisory Group,  May 14, 2001

CyberMichigan convened a group of public, private, and nonprofit leaders to discuss key IT issues and policies which Michigan must address to ensure its continued prosperity. This group, the Michigan Information Technology Advisory Group (MITAG), identified three areas of urgent need:

  1. The creation of a compelling vision and message that Michigan’s future is dependent on a vital information technology infrastructure.

  2. Availability and access to high-speed broadband telecommunications technology that links all of Michigan to the Internet.

  3. The availability of a highly trained workforce capable of adding value to Michigan’s IT industry and as support in other enterprises.
