Mark Neithercut is a foundation executive with
experience in both the private and community foundation fields. He has seventeen years of experience managing
divisions of nonprofit organizations. Mr. Neithercut has extensive experience in managing change and growth in the
nonprofit world, e.g., he managed the growth of the Community Foundation for Southeastern Michigan's grantmaking program
from $6 million of annual grants to $25 million. He has developed new grantmaking programs with budgets from $500,000
to $12 million, and raised all of the funds for these programs from private foundations.
Prior to opening his advisory firm, Mr. Neithercut was Vice President - Programs for Community Foundation
for Southeastern Michigan and Program Officer for The Kresge Foundation. He also has held various positions at Wayne State
University, including: Academic Director and Associate Professor (Research); Research Associate and Director - Michigan Metropolitan
Information Center; and Adjunct Professor - Department of Geography and Urban Planning.
He holds a PhD from the University of British Columbia, a masters degree from the University of Michigan,
and a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Michigan.
Mr. Neithercut serves as a trustee for the Anna Pauline Foundation and is on the Board of Governors for
Cranbrook Schools. He is also currently on the Board of Directors for the Location Initiatives Support Corporation (Detroit)
and the Detroit Advisory Committee for the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
